AI study notes generator for students

Brief is a free web app that turns your learning materials into structured study notes with AI. You give it a PDF, a Word document, photos of pages, pasted text, a lecture recording or just a list of topics, and it writes notes you can study from straight away.

What Brief creates

  • A structured summary of the material
  • Short explainers for difficult ideas
  • Flashcards for revision
  • Case briefs (facts, issue, decision, reasoning), useful for law students

Choose how deep and how detailed

Pick one of three levels. Basic gives a short summary of the most important points. Medium goes deeper while staying easy to follow. High is for students who want the fullest picture and more advanced detail.

Pick a note style too: Clean (formatted text), Structured (adds tables, columns and bullet lists) or Visual (adds diagrams as well).

After the notes are ready

  • Save them to your account and organise them in folders
  • Download them as PDF, Word or Markdown
  • Make a practice test with multiple-choice, written and case questions, then see what you got right and why
  • Share notes with a study group, or publish them to the public library

Limitations to keep in mind

  • AI notes can be wrong or leave things out. Check key points against your course materials.
  • Notes are a study aid, not legal or professional advice, and not work to submit as your own.
  • Very poor photos or scanned pages with unreadable text give weaker notes.
  • You need a free account and an internet connection to create notes. Saved notes can be read offline.
